Academy Tutoring

Our program is based on the following good teaching practices:

Individualized instruction: Our tutors work with students one-on-one or in small groups to provide personalized instruction and support.
Active learning: Our tutors encourage students to participate in active learning activities, such as discussion, problem-solving, and hands-on activities.
Feedback: Our tutors provide students with regular feedback on their progress, so they can track their progress and make adjustments as needed.
Goal setting: Our tutors help students set realistic goals for their academic progress, and they work with students to develop a plan to achieve those goals.
Motivation: Our tutors are committed to helping students stay motivated and engaged in their learning.

Individual Tutoring

A good SAT score alone will not be sufficient to get into a good college. Students all need to have good GPA (4.0+). To make sure that the students are doing well in their academic school courses, we provide help in most academic subjects. Whether it is consistent retention, intermittent practice, or a rare re-explaining, we break down problems and concepts using different teaching methodologies so that students can build confidence and expand their own understanding of each subject. We do not leave until the assignment is finished.

The tutoring is offered in a small classroom setup. The class will consist of 3-5 students working on the same subjects. The detailed concepts are explained on the board on the common topics/questions. The teacher attends to particular problems individually for every student. It is preferred that the students complete the homework before coming and ask questions on the ones that they could not solve. Extra practice is given to strengthen the foundations and to prepare for regular school quizzes and tests.

Summer Bridge Programs and Enrichment courses (Jun – Aug)

To boost their GPA, motivated students work on basic math and science classes during the summer and advanced classes during the school year. Coherence Learning can provide expert advice on choosing and helping with the chosen subjects to keep good grades on the summer course.

Getting ready for the coming school year is another way to get high grades and to start high school relatively stronger and smoother. Knowing the material ahead of time is always better for boosting confidence. We provide help to prepare for all the science and math foundation classes. AP Calculus and AP Sciences are some of the dreaded courses that certainly need a strong foundation to stay comfortably ahead and get a GPA boost with good grades. We will provide all the resources and material on the subjects to make sure that you meet your academic goals.

Since the pandemic, a lot of students have struggled with organizing work and having a strong foundation of concepts. The lack of proper interaction with the teachers and peers created a substantial gap in the learning process, so understanding the subject suffered a massive blow. The virtual school did not allow real-time testing, and the majority of the students could not learn the concepts to the level of expertise required to face the challenges of the upcoming year. This has made it hard for a lot of students to catch up with a fast-moving academic curriculum. The students still hesitate to ask questions and struggle to organize their work and maintain a good GPA.

These enrichment courses precisely address the areas of weakness in the subject that could otherwise impede success during the year. This course will strengthen those shortcomings and prepare them for the upcoming year. This course will also give a head start on the fall subjects.

All in all, this course will create a bridge between the previous year and the next for a smooth transition.

Coherence Learning has benefited me greatly ever since I joined the center. My first experience with the center was their AET/AOS class, which helped me get into both programs. I rejoined recently in my junior year, into their SAT program.
