Many students will opt for one of the nearby magnet schools around Loudoun and Fairfax, which have a rigorous application process, including:

  • STEM Skills Evaluation

  • CCTDI- Critical Thinking

  • Personal Essay

  • CCTST- Evaluation

In order to give students the chance to stand out, we offer a course in working through real-world problems with innovative thinking and strategies, exactly what STEM is built on.

This class will teach children not only to define the box but think outside of it and ask the right questions to see what possible solutions exist. They will then use these critical thinking skills to learn the scientific method and test different hands-on experiments to establish success criteria. This foundation in science will help them solve technological problems that require extensive research, culminating in weeks of learning to code in Block, Scratch, Java, and Python.

All of this is designed to prepare students in how to explain themselves completely and approach complex problems in a logical manner.

STEM Details and Fee Structure

The fee structure works on a month to month basis.

Rates vary based on the number of classes per week.

Students who wish to take both Critical Thinking and STEM classes will have a fee structure of $450 pm for 8 classes/16 hours per month.

The students who would like to take one of these two will have a structure as $240 pm for 4 Classes/8 hrs per month

The ACL admission process will incorporate all the four elements of STEM Spectrum.

The ACL test will test the following:

  • STEM Reasoning
  • Out-of-the-Box Math Skills
  • Spatial-Relational Thinking
  • Scientific and Technical Logical Thinking

Our students will explore the different horizons of the scientific and technical processes through our versatile and precisely crafted plan. We will be achieving our goal by gaining experience and knowledge in the following fields.

Robotics: We will be using our premade FIRST robotics kit. It will make a simple robot and helps students understand the basics of assembling and functionality. Just to get a preliminary hands on with robotic coding, we will introduce Java onbot. Later, we will proceed to show the students how to code them on Java using Android Studio; this will be advanced level coding. We will include critical thinking elements such as a defined challenges/competitions to get the students more interested. At a mature level of the robotics learning, we will finally do the full engineering design process, teaching CAD and advancing into high level coding.

Programming:

The programming will be divided into two parts:

  • Core Coding (Python, Java, Swift, etc.)
  • Website development (HTML,CSS,JS, etc.)

Science Projects

Our Science programs will train the students on critical thinking, decision making, out-of-the-box thinking, and scientific calculation elements to develop a complete the project. They will be mentored by the expert teachers to achieve the end goal. The students will be provided with different challenges that will require them to use different steps of the scientific process to troubleshoot, test, collect data, and draw conclusions from various iterations.
